Kinder

Miniature sculptures from discarded painters-tape (2020)

Kinder is all about playfulness and creating without getting pretentious. The scotch tape is waste material from painting in Preau this summer with my old teacher (we used the tape to put the paper and canvas on a board). The paint that got on the tape triggered my imagination which created the first miniature sculpture; the penguin. After that things started flowing, and a bunch of creatures was created, mainly as small gifts to the other participants of the course. Hence the name of the series 'Kinder'. It refers to being a child, yet also to being kinder to others, which I love to trigger through my work. Yet last but not least it also refers to the surprise eggs that contain a little toy on the inside, which are my kids all time favourite :-).
